Philosophy

I believe that each person has a specific path to travel and that, at the end of the day, what we most desire is to leave a meaningful legacy, sweetly remembered by those we love. My heartfelt goal in counseling is to help you find your purpose and significance in life and essentially discover how your path is influenced by your history, family, and community. I realize that these relationships can be difficult and my personal goal for therapy is to walk beside you in an attempt to maintain a healthy balance of all that life brings.
“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” – C.S. Lewis
Tending to our pain requires a willingness to take responsibility for what needs to change within us. For most people, this change usually includes learning how to better love ourselves and others. In doing so, we hopefully become closer to understanding our own journey and what it is that brings about personal fulfillment and joy.
